Award-Winning Future Sports Collection Evolves into a New Model for Local Fashion Production

An award-winning collection of speculative sportswear concepts has evolved into something more ambitious: a functioning platform that allows fashion designs to be licensed, visualised, and produced locally on demand.

Originally recognised through the FIT Sports Awards, the Future Sports collection now forms part of the FORME registry on Fabric Not Found, demonstrating how a design can move from concept to production without relying on mass manufacturing or speculative inventory.

Rather than treating garments as products to be manufactured in advance, FORME treats each design as a licensable digital asset. A design can be discovered, explored through movement studies and visualisation tools, licensed by a steward, and then produced by an independent local maker when required.

The platform combines digital design registration, licensing, local manufacturing, provenance, and made-to-order production into a single workflow.
